Dark Blue Rerun

Congratulations to Sarah Adams of Providence Forge, Virginia on her purchase of Dark Blue Rerun, aka "Riley," on March 18, 2008. Riley was the first of Blue's babies foaled here at Stone Anvil, and from the moment he hit the ground he was Larry's fave: a grulla, looking so much like his daddy, and such a sweet-natured fellow, willing and ready to do whatever you asked of him. Besides winning some walk-trots and getting his name called out in western pleasure, Larry even rode him in a couple of Trail events (which Riley had never even heard of at the time!) and Amateur Horsemanship (which Larry had never ridden in in his life!). Riley has been the one and only exception to my own personal rule that I would never get up on a young horse again, ever, ever, because I was too scared and it wouldn't be good for any of us. I found out that I could even lope him (!!) because he was so laid-back and gentle that he didn't scare me. We will miss him in our barn and at the shows, but we know he has gone to a great home and will make a super match with Sarah. Lord willin' and the fuel prices don't rise, we may even see Riley and Sarah at some of our shows in Ohio and Kentucky this season! Amateurs, watch out for this pair! Congratulations and the best of luck to Sarah and her family.
